Britannia Industries gained 1.61%, extending a recovery even though the stock remains down about 10% year-to-date despite a solid June-quarter beat. Consolidated profit rose 14% to Rs 593 crore on revenue growth of 8-9.5% to roughly Rs 4,964-5,000 crore, with volumes up 9% and EBITDA margin expanding to 16.8% from 16.4% a year earlier. Management flagged continuing inflation in sugar and palm oil as a cost headwind, a concern that sits alongside a rich valuation of about 51.6 times earnings that already prices in a lot of good news. Still, the 33 analysts covering the stock maintain a "buy" consensus with an average target of Rs 6,318.12, well above current levels.
