Yes Bank slipped 3.2% to ₹22.10 even as S&P Global Ratings handed the private lender its first-ever international rating of 'BB+/B' with a Stable outlook, underpinned by expectations of extraordinary support from SMBC, which holds a 24.9% stake. The rating action follows a steady operational turnaround — gross NPA improved to 1.3% in Q1FY27 from 1.6% a year earlier, while net profit climbed 33.7% YoY to ₹1,071 crore and net interest income rose 17.5% to ₹2,786 crore. Yet brokerage sentiment stayed cautious, with JM Financial only upgrading the stock to 'Reduce' from 'Sell' and nudging its target up to ₹22 from ₹17. The stock now trades about 12% below its 52-week high of ₹25.77 hit in June, and with a ten-year CAGR of -22.22%, the broader analyst consensus of 13 tracking the stock remains an underperform call, with an average target of ₹21.08.
